- I led one of the few successful armored attacks against the Germans in the Battle of France in WWII which gave me my rank as brigadier general

Setbacks
- During WWI I was captured and held as prisoner of war by the Germans for 32 months, with 5 unsuccessful attempts of escape.
- I was later exiled from France and condemned to death for treason against the Vichy regime for my radio announcement of resisting Nazi control.
